Grenoble city hall switch to Myekrinos-T and OMNI
Submitted by Sébastien Judenherc 21/10/2008 - 12:10

The structural monitoring system running in the city hall of Grenoble has been upgraded with the installation of Mykerinos-T and OMNI. The original system was built on Minititan digitizers connected over an ethernet network. The synchronization pulses were transmitted to the digitizers over the ethernet cable using ethernet hubs designed in this aim by Agecodagis. The GPS receiver is located on the top of the building, attached to the first disgitizer. The upgrade consisted of adding a Mykerinos-T device to each digitizer. A laptop PC running OMNI takes care of the station setup and health monitoring. The PC is connected to the internt over an ADSL line, allowing the operator to easily check the state of health of the array and to manage data.

Kheops running in the Moulis cave
Submitted by Sébastien Judenherc 01/10/2008 - 17:01

The Kheops station operated by Agecodagis in the Moulis cave is running !

The Kheops station is installed by Agecodagis as a demonstration site for the Kheops digitizer and the communication and power management set-up. More details about the installation are provided here. We make the data freely available online, as raw titan2 data and BH SeedLink streams on http://data.agecodagis.com.

The station is managed by OMNI, the state of the station can be checked on http://omni.agecodagis.com (log as user demo with password demo. Some browsers may work with http://demo:demo@omni.agecodagis.com).

GPS signal for Osiris family in caves/tunnels
Submitted by Sébastien Judenherc 03/09/2008 - 14:26

The first Kheops station will soon be installed in the CNRS cave in Moulis. The station will be hosted at the end of the cave with the courtesy of the "Station d'Ecologie Expérimentale du CNRS à Moulis, USR 2936". For both Internet access and GPS timing, the station is connected to the laboratory over a 1000m cable. We have developped a supervisor in order to protect the devices in the cave (ADSL modem, Kheops station, sensors) against the very frequent storms that occur in the area.
Since the GPS receiver is also installed 1000m away from the station, in the laboratory we had to develop a system to carry the RS232 and 1PPS signal over the 1000m cable.
Preliminary tests performed in july 2008 have demonstrated that the complete GPS data (RS232 signals and 1PPS signal) were correctly transmitted over the 1000m cable. Contact Agecodagis for more information.
